4 Hours. 1 Class Session. First Aid is the immediate and temporary proper aid provided to a sick or injured person until medical treatment can be provided. This course will teach you simple life-saving medical techniques that an individual without formal medical training can perform with minimal equipment in an emergency. Successful completion of this course will earn you an American Heart Association First Aid certification good for three year. $40.00 Course Fee$35.00 SDSU/UCSD Students Fee Minimum class size 10. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center, in cooperation with the California Department of Boating and Waterways, is offering a certification course in basic seamanship and boat handling. Topics covered are: boat hulls, coastal navigation, weather, rules of the road, knots, anchoring, accidents, first aid, outboard and inboard engines, and terminology. Students will get practical experience with small motor boats, trailering and night and day operation. Course instruction is offered free of charge; however a $70 lab fee will be charged to cover expenses for practical on-the-water sessions. $70.00 Course Fee$70.00 SDSU/UCSD Students Fee Minimum class size 4. This class meets once a week for 5 weeks and a 1-day practical. |
