The participants, varying in background and experience from youth camp cross-over's, to seasoned verterans, and even a rider who experienced their first pull ever, enjoyed the chance to meet other local women riders. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center is selling their complete stock of 2005 wakeboards and waterskiis. These year old boards and skiis are in great condition and are offered at huge discounts (see price list). Everything must go as we are completely liquidating our 2005 supplies to make room for 2006 gear. |
Each year the MBAC, in partnership with West Coast Correct Craft, updates our fleet of wakeboarding and waterskiing towboats to current year models and liquidates our used boats at rock bottom prices.. We have already pre-sold 5 Nautiques and current just have 2 Air Nautique 206's left. |

These boats and equipment are priced to move at rock-bottom prices. Everything must go! We are selling 5- 2004 Correct Craft 210 Super Air Nautiques for a fraction of the retail price. These boats have been modified for salt water and are equipped with anti-corrosion, stainless steel fasteners and sea strainers. |
According an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune, a 1.5 million dollar, two-year study that examined the health risks of Mission Bay water quality, concluded that the park is safe for all forms of aquatic recreation, including swimming. The study focused on individuals who had various amounts of contact with the water from full emersion to no contact at all. The individuals were contacted 10 days to 2 weeks later and asked if they had contracted any illness. While most individuals reported no illness at all, a small amount (less than 5%) reported minor illnesses such as skin rashes or diarrhea. |
You don't have to be a diehard surfer to enjoy the conditions this fall. Late season south swells combined with early season north swells have created ideal conditions for the beginning surfer. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center, along with the San Diego Lifeguard Service, hosted the 1st Annual San Diego Beach and Boat Fair, May 23rd, at South Shores, Mission Bay. The event kicked of National Safe Boating, and Nation Safe Beach Week and was designed to education the public on safe beach and boat use. |

Kayaks have come a long way since the days when their sole function was to transport arctic people around the icy waters of the northern regions. During this time, kayaks mainly consisted of wooden frames that were covered in sealskin. Only a small hole existed in the middle of the vessel, allowing the user only enough maneuvering room for hunting and fishing. Now they are made of state-of-the-art plastics and fiberglass. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC) offers SDSU faculty, staff, students, alumni and their families recreational classes in wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, sailing, kiteboarding and rowing. Located on Santa Clara Point in Mission Bay Park, it is considered one of the finest waterfront facilities of its kind. MBAC is owned and operated by Associated Students of SDSU (along with Campus Recreation of UCSD), thus faculty, staff, students and alumni of SDSU are eligible to register for classes and rent equipment.
