Mission Bay Aquatic Center Promises Fun on the Water

The Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC) offers SDSU faculty, staff, students, alumni and their families recreational classes in wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, sailing, kiteboarding and rowing.  Located on Santa Clara Point in Mission Bay Park, it is considered one of the finest waterfront facilities of its kind. MBAC is owned and operated by Associated Students of SDSU (along with Campus Recreation of UCSD), thus faculty, staff, students and alumni of SDSU are eligible to register for classes and rent equipment.

Alumnus honored for leadership

Sailing, skiing, boating -- find anything that has to do with the water, and there is Glen Brandenburg. But even more than that, Brandenburg, director of the Mission Bay Aquatics Center, is known for his leadership. On Nov. 30, Brandenburg, a San Diego State alumnus, was recognized for his leadership through the Channel 10 Leadership Award. KGTV Channel 10 news presented the plaque to Brandenburg at the Mission Bay Aquatics Center, operated through Associated Students.
