MBAC welcomes new lead staff membersThe Mission Bay Aquatic Center is welcoming two new management team members, transferring one current member, and promoting another to new responsibilities. All of the changes are expected to positively impact services and programs at MBAC. Surf Instructor, Justin Baar, has been appointed as the new Lead Surfing Instructor to replace Andrew LaPlant who has accepted the position of Lead Sailing and Windsurfing Instructor. Andrew served as the Lead Surfing Instructor at MBAC for the past 3 years and under his supervision the department experienced significant growth in the area of ENS Surf Class enrollment and youth camp surf programs. After graduating from SDSU in the fall, Andrew decided it was time to utilize his extensive experience in sailing to Lead the sailing operations at MBAC. He will continue to mentor Justin through his introductory training period. Cody Krzton-Presson, who formerly served as the Lead Sailing and Windsurfing Instructor for the past 3 years is graduating SDSU this spring and will be pursuing a career in engineering. Former Lead Kayaking Instructor and Special Events Coordinator, Aaron Gorman, after several summers of hard working service, has decide to resign his management duties and will be pursuing employment elsewhere. Former Kayaking and Sailing Instructor, Kat Rust, has been selected as the new Lead Kayaking Instructor to replace Aaron, and current Lead Rowing instructor, Liz Jones, has assumed the duties of Special Events Coordinator. Both Kat and Liz are already settled into their new positions and are hard at work preparing for summer. We expect these additions and changes to only improve the great customer service and programs that our customers are accustomed to.
