The California Department of Boating and Waterways provides grants
to the Mission Bay Aquatic Center for safe boating education, and
provides scholarship funds for underprivileged youth to participate
in boating education. The mission of the agency is to provide programs
for boaters, paid for by boaters and is a self-funded, self-supported
entity. |

The Peninsula Family YMCA serves local youth with the Mission Bay Youth Watesports Camp held at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. The camp serves over 1500 youth each summer in activities such as sailing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, windsurfing, surfing, and marine science. Camperships are available for under-served youth. |
