WAKEBOARDING

Back to Previous Page

Dana Cholish has always been drawn to board sports. Her father, an avid waterskier, taught her to ski on Budd Lake, New Jersey at a very young age. At 16, Dana saw wakeboarding on TV for the first time and it grabbed her attention right away. At the time, wakeboarding wasn’t nearly the phenomenon it is today, and she had limited opportunities to learn the sport. Dana managed to get a board which she spent the entire next summer learning to ride. Since then, she has spent the short New Jersey summers wakeboarding, while using the long winter months cross-training with snowboarding. In search of a longer watersports season, she moved to California for the year round summer weather and great riding conditions. She is currently a graduate student at San Diego State University studying Nutrition & Exercise Science and plans to one day be a Nutrition Counselor.

What inspired you to become a wakeboarding instructor?

“After teaching many friends & family members, I realized how much I enjoyed watching others picking up wakeboarding. It’s very rewarding to share my knowledge with others just beginning in a sport I’m so passionate about. Plus, there’s no place I’d rather be than out there on the water.”
