Jessie Valentine is a San Diego native whose roots in wakeboarding go back to it's early origins. She grew up skiing on Imperial Lakes, in the Imperial Valley until her parents gave her the first widely available wakeboard, the O'Brien Shreader. She instanttly fell in love with the sport and has since become competitive in amateur events. She has won the Wakesports Unlimited So Cal Wakeboarding event, and has place in the top three for several years. Jessie was hired as an instructor after an instructor recognized her talent during an MBAC wakeboarding class. She is a Kinesiology Junior at San Diego State University where she hopes to become a physical trainer. What advice do you have for girls who want to become competitive wakeboarders? "Getting better at wakeboarding is all in your head. Be sure to put it all out there every time you go out, and don't be afraid to fall. Prepare yourself with physical training, have confidence, and just try to have fun!" |
