San Diego is blessed with a climate that offers year-round wakeboarding and waterskiing opportunities. The protected waters of Mission Bay and the fresh water of Lake San Vicente provide the best wakeboarding and waterskiing in San Diego County. If you want to learn how to wakeboard or waterski the Aquatic Center has a class for you. Classes are designed to target and realize the goals of each individual wakeboarder or skier, whether they are learning to wakeboard, learning to ski on double skis, improving wakeboard skill level, moving from doubles to a single slalom ski, improving slalom ski performance, trick skiing and kneeboarding, learning to fly the air chair, and learning competitive training techniques. Instructors are U.S. Coast Guard licensed and meet American Waterski Association Instructor qualifications. Many instructors also compete regularly in tournaments in both slalom skiing and wakeboarding. All equipment is provided and wetsuits or drysuits are available for $1.00 per use. Equipment used in our classes includes current year O'Brien waterskis and wakeboards and curent year Liquid Force and Hyperlite wakeboards, and Air Chair Stealth Hydrofoils. We are proud to use the finest performance wakeboard and waterski boats in the world, current year, newly designed, Correct Craft Super Air Nautiques. They have excellent wakes, no spray, a spacious interior, and a high performance inboard engine with the advantage of a strong pull and low maintainence. We are now proud to offer our most complete wakeboard instructional experience, the Wakeboarding Development Camp. Riders will have the opportunity to take two long sets each morning with expert coaching from our most highly experienced instructors. Your riding will be broken down into the most fundamental elements to help you improve and successfully land new tricks. Coaching will focus on body position, board control, edging, jumping, spinning, and inverts (based on rider’s ability). Instructors will combine riding time with a video review session to help improve your technique. Prerequisite: This camp is designed for wakeboarders who are already comfortable riding on the surface of the water, and edging confidently under control. Participants should have prior experience learning to jump the wake, and feel ready to learn the proper techniques to take their jumps to new heights. Pre-qualification ensures a productive learning environment by teaming advanced wakeboarders with other motivated riders who are focused on improvement.
